NewsThe Prayers release debut EPSurveying the ashes of his now defunct, menacing San Diego hardcore band, The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower, singer/guitarist Brandon Welchez turned to fellow San Diego hardcore luminary Andrew Miller to create a collaborative effort and a new sound. The Prayers debut EP 'God Save The Prayers' produced by San Diego maestro Alex Newport. 4 songs that are true rock 'n? roll which dabble in 60?s britpop, first wave New York punk, and power pop that could have been produced by a young Phil Spector. Having already completed a 2 week tour of the United Kingdom including appearances at Brighton?s Great Escape Festival they return this October for In The City and a London club tour. London, UK w/ Bearknuckles and more tbc Jack Penate and The Strokes come together Jack Penate featured at the debut of former Test Icicles member Dev Hynes' solo project Lightspeed Champion in London tonight (July 19). Penate joined the band for a cover of the John Martyn's classic 'Over The Hill' introduced as a "special guest." The star studded show was the debut London solo gig by the former grot rocker and also featured The Horrors singer Faris Rotter. The singer featured on the track 'I Could Have Done This Myself', the band was augmented by support act Emmy The Great on violin and backing vocals. Before the track 'No Surprise' he said: "It's not about incest but it is for my mum." The band ended with a performance of a version of The Strokes 'New York City Cops' Hynes told the audience: "Thanks so much for coming it means so much to me." |
